Walton Hugo Wilson - June 14, 2002 - Lecanto, FL - Age 78

Born on May 15, 1924 in Oneco, Manatee County, Florida, to Benjamin Franklin Wilson and Idle Day Lundy Wilson

Frank moved to Citrus County 33 years ago from Jacksonville, Florida.

He was the owner of Whippoorwill Barber Shop, Lecanto, Florida from 1977 to 1992

In Lecanto, he was called by the name, Santa Claus

U S Navy

He was a Navy veteran

and served on several ships as a hospital corpsman during World War II.

He was attached to the 4th Marine Division Fourth Marine Division, South Pacific.

He attended Florida Christian College, Temple Terrace.

Later, he re-enlisted in the

U S Navy

Navy and served a total of 20 years


He was an active member of Church of Christ of Lecanto, Florida


He was a member Fleet Reserve Post 186 serving as chaplain for many years
and of DAV Chapter 139, at the time of the merger with Chapter 70


He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Freida Oliff King Wilson
(who at the age of 93 passed on Feburary 14, 2011);
two sons, Larry Wilson (Leslie), Chassahowitzka, and Richard G Wilson (Debbie), Lecanto;
and two grandchildren (Grant Wilson).


Burial was at the Magnolia Cemetery, Lecanto, Fl with services by the Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa Springs
