Welcome...
NEED A RIDE
to your appointment at the Gainesville Medical Center
or The Villages Clinic or Ocala Hearing/Audio Center

Our van drivers are dedicated to serving area veterans
with free transportation to the VAMCs.

Call the Lecanto Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC)
2804 West Marc Knighton Court, Lecanto, FL at
352-746-8005.

Please DO NOT leave a voice message on recorder for ride
you must speak to a "live" person
to schedule transportation.

All appointments at the Gainesville Veterans Hospital must be completed before 2:00 p.m.,
as the van leaves to return to the Lecanto Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC)
ON or BEFORE that time.

Also the van will NOT take you if your appointment is later than 12:30
but should your appointment be later, we may be able to 'green card' you, which may
push up your appointment sooner - if not you will have to re-schedule.
WE CAN NOT take you to ungent care or emergency room - per the Hospital

Besides the CBOC - the van may pick-up riders in
Inverness, Hernando,
Holder, Dunnellon, and Williston
or Special Arraignment
en route to Gainesville

For those living South of Route 44, and Crystal River, you have to come to Lecanto - those in Floral City, to Inverness.

Van service is available each weekday
but for Federal Holidays, the first Monday and third Thursday of each month.
Citrus County Transit goes on those days - call 352-527-7630 for a ride.

Transport to The Villages Clinic, or Ocala
We go as needed but for Federal Holidays

THIS PAST FUND RAISER

From late October 2013, Chapter 70 had a fund raiser for a "NEW" Van, to re-place the old 'loaner' one.
Thanks to this community, we raised the monies to obtain a new van, and placed it in service in October of 2014.

Open Letter of Thanks

To the Citizens of Citrus County,

I want to take this opportunity to personally thank the citizens of Citrus County for their overwhelming generosity in their response to the need for a new DAV Transportation Van. We received hundreds of donations from county residents and we were able to meet our goal to purchase a new van. The order for the van has been placed and it is hoped to be received in the county by this summer. Any further incoming donations will be put in the DAV Van Project account for a future van and will be used for that purpose only. One hundred percent of your donation is used for the purchase of these vans. Your generosity has made this possible, and this van will be used by our veterans for years to come. Thank you for remembering the veterans, and again, my sincere gratitude for your kindness.

Sincerely,
Joe Stephens
Senior Vice Commander
