Born on 26 September 1926 in Detroit, Michigan

Son of the late Harry and Winifred Norman

Roy served in the U.S. Navy

Veteran serving as an
Aviation machinist's mate

Navy Aerial Gunner
Aerial Gunner.

He served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations with missions over French Indo China, and many critical missions in S.E Asia.

As a result he became the proud recipient of the

Distinguished Flying Cross

Air Medal with two gold stars,

Presidential Unit Citation

and the Naval Aircrew Badge with three service stars
each star represents 20 hours of combat air/mission time.

Roy and Gail moved to Citrus County in 1981 where many opportunities began.

One of his favorite was being a restaurateur and chef of the Scallywags Restaurant in Crystal River.

Roy was preceded in death by his son Erick Norman
two sisters, Veronica Norman and Kathleen Gerroll.

He is survived by his loving wife Gail Dillon Norman of 47 years

two daughters:
Sharron Norman of NYC, New York;
Michele Johnson of Inglis, Florida,
sister Winifred "Wini" McKinney,
three nephews, Tom Morgan; Stephen "Booth" McKinney and wife Susan; Daniel Gerroll and wife Patricia;,br /> and niece Olivia Gerroll.

He is also survived by many loving extended Dillon family members.
