VA Backlog May Zero Out in 2015

VA claims its backlog is steadily decreasing, and experts say it is on pace to hit zero in 2015. As an advocate for veterans like you, DAV is keeping a watchful eye on the backlog numbers.

Marine Retiree Keeps On Serving

For retired Marine John Bryant, service is a lifelong goal. After 20 years in the Corps, John decided to devote himself to fellow disabled veterans through DAV, where he says: "I'm able to give back to those who gave so much to me."

Such is the kind of loyalty your DAV membership inspires.

Disabled Veterans Memorial Dedication Announced

Work that began over a year ago on the first memorial to disabled veterans is nearing completion, setting the stage for a magnificent dedication in early October. Learn more about this “neverending reminder to all of the cost of human conflict.”

DAV Helps Veterans Find Jobs

DAV and technology trade associations have created an online tech community aimed at linking veterans to jobs in the tech sector.

Report Details Caregiver Challenges

A recent study reports that caregivers for veterans face myriad hurdles, from financial strain to depression. Through DAV, you support families and caregivers, helping to shoulder the burden of caring for our most seriously injured brothers and sisters.

Chapter & Eatery Fundraise for Van

Teaming up with Ruby Tuesday, one DAV Chapter plans to raise $25,000 for a new van. The additional van will mean 20 to 30 more of our fellow veterans make it to needed doctor's appointments each week.

Auxiliary Unit Donates Fireplaces

DAV Auxiliary Unit 40 donated funds to help a local nursing home purchase fireplaces for activity rooms. The residents, many of them veterans, say the fireplaces make the place feel more like home.

See You Behind the Wheel

Here's just one DAV Chapter that's looking for volunteer drivers to get veterans to doctor visits. You can help get veterans to medical care as you volunteer in DAV's nationwide Transportation Network.

Your Memorial Day Salute

At this most patriotic time of year, DAV honors our promise to all veterans who return ill and injured after brave service to this nation.

Through your DAV membership, you salute our fallen warriors as you stand up for your fellow veterans.
