William A. Brown
Captain William A. "Bill" (Nine) Brown - August 6, 2011 - Inverness, FL - Age 78
A native of Cambridge, MA, he was the son of the late Alfred and Alice Brown
and located to this area from Miami.
He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps, having been honorably discharged as a Captain after 22 years of service
He also retired from the State of Florida Dept. of Labor after 15 years of service
Bill was active in the U.S. Marines Corps League Detachment No. 1139
Worshiped at Stagecoach Junction Fellowship and was an avid Red Sox fan
He is survived by his wife, Jean Brown; two sons, William Aaron Brown of Pittsburgh, PA; Sean Baker, Melbourne,
FL; four daughters, Cheryl (Bill) Bloom and Sharon (Franklin) McCray, both of Inverness; Catherine Brown
McCullough, Goldsboro, NC; Marjorie (Arthur) DeCardenas, Mabank, TX; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren;
and two brothers, Jim Hill and Lynn McCoy. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Brown Baker; his
second wife, Dorothy J. Brown; and two grandchildren, Shawn Gadd and Sarah Brown.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, August 11th, at 1 p.m. from Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home.
Military honors follow at Florida National Cemetery (Bushnell) with Marine Corps League Detachments No. 1139 and
No. 819 officiating
