DAV is a nonprofit charity that provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families,
helping more than 1 million veterans in positive, life-changing ways each year.
The organization provides more than 700,000 rides for veterans attending medical appointments and

Locally, from the Lecanto Clinic the van service has transported over 4,000 +- to Gainesville or the Villages.
On Friday, August 16, 2019 at the 13:00 hours at the Resource Center, next to the clinic,
the Tampa VA and Gainesville VA Admin., and staff were there to talk about the Lecanto transfer.

Starting October 1, 2019, those already going to Gainesville, may continual to go Gainesville or the Villages,
or go to Tampa VA - YOUR CHOICE. Those who have PC at Lecanto need only tell them, were you wish to go.
In 2018 - 2019, DAV helped attain more than $4 billion in new and retroactive benefits to care for veterans,
their families and survivors.
No stats for Citrus, since there are no returns on claims filled at the Chapter level.

Of the 17 FDC filed by our Chapter VSOs filed so far in 2019, we know of 1 that received 30%, 3 50 per cent or better, 1 100%, others are unknown.
DAV is also a leader in connecting veterans with meaningful employment,
hosting job fairs and providing resources to ensure they have the opportunity to participate
in the American Dream their sacrifices have made possible.
With more than 1,300 chapters and 1.3 million members across the country,
Citrus has two DAV Chapters - Chapter 70 in Inverness,
Chapter 158 in Crytal River.
